“AncestryDNA : What To Do With All Those Matches”

MEETING DATE: Thursday, August 24, 2023

6:45PM - 8:45PM (Zoom meeting room opens at 6:45 PM; Meeting starts at 7 PM)

via Zoom virtual meeting.

Description

If you submit your spit to one of the DNA services such as AncestryDNA you start to get matches. You wanted that. Cousins out to 4th, 5th, 8th. People you have never heard of. How can one create a family tree from all this information? How can one understand how these people are actually related to you when they have names you never heard, and are connected through great great great grandparents of whom you also have never heard? Crista will show by looking at the data and tools provided by AncestryDNA how one can begin to make sense of it all. Even if you used some other DNA service and don't want to purchase Ancestry itself (maybe just the DNA kit) you will learn how to no longer be overwhelmed by these potentially long lists. And see how this website works and the tools provided.
